Slang from the 50’s and cat songs
Who remebers Happy Days, with the cool greaser : The Fonz, I really liked it, it was broadcasted between 1976 - 1980. The language, slang from the fifties, used a lot own words, like Cat (a hip person) and Kitten (young and inexperienced girl). Many songs were made with these populair expressions; cat(s) or kitten/kitty. In every revival, rock & roll, psycho- en rockabilly bands use cat/cats and such in their songs.
Many of these words, in fact most words can have “ville” added to them. There was coolsville, squareville, weirdsville, catsville, etc. These are just a few examples. If you like to read more about these fifties expressions, visit Fifties Web. So....
